Congratulations, Theodore!!!
You beat Senator Blutarsky on both counts: "Seven years of college down the drain!!!" Balls Out -- Refers to an early design of engine governor, in which a pair of masses (balls) spun at an increasing rate as engine speed increased. Centrifugal acceleration threw the masses outward, so "balls out" refers to maximum possible engine speed. |

It could be worse, Geomorphology..... There is currently a revival of the minerals industry in progress worldwide, as well as a revival of the nuclear industry in this US, both presenting lucrative opportunities for those with the education and the experience. Now, if I stay in the nuclear industry, then I can stay in civilization. On the other hand, if I go back to the minerals industry after a twenty-five year absence, then I have to move to Canada or Australia. |

Thanks, everybody. I am now a Bachelor of Science with a major in Geography and a minor in Political Science.
Not sure what's next - I have some irons in the fire and I've had a couple of interviews, but no offers yet. So, anybody want to hire a geographer with a good background on the maritime side, good analytical ability (including some statistical training), and top-notch communications skills?

Congrats. Not just on getting the diploma, but surviving the ceremony!

The ceremony wasn't that bad. Chris Matthews was our speaker, and he kept it remarkably short - the shortest graduation speech I've ever heard, in
fact. He talked politics, of course, but he was remarkably even-handed in his treatment of the three candidates. The president knows me from the radio station,
so she introduced us on the stage as she was congratulating me, which was pretty cool.

Congrats Theo, I just finished up myself.
Class work and thesis work are done, though I don't walk until August I have now completed my Master of Science in Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech. Though there was interesting things to be seen for PHD work I "unfortunately" will not stay on as I have been offered a job at IBM. :-) "I am an engineer.
